House of Commons Parliamentary Papers, 1901 - 2005

Bringing the most comprehensive primary sources right up to the 21st Century with over 5.2 million pages of parliamentary papers

Searchable full text and accompanying index records are available for the complete file of House of Commons Parliamentary Papers from 1901 to the present day, providing unprecedented access to this crucial historical resource for undergraduates, researchers, reference staff and policy makers.

High quality scans of original documents and sophisticated search options allow users to locate illustrations, charts, and maps, and to search within individual papers.

Index data from the HMSO decennials (1901-1979) and Parliamentary On-Line Information Service (POLIS) (1979- ) has been enhanced with the addition of broad subject categories based on headings created for Chadwyck Healey’s Subject Catalogue of the House of Commons Parliamentary Papers, 1801-1900. These headings have been edited and updated to include terms of contemporary relevance, such as ‘Communications and Mass Media’ and ‘Health and Social Services’. Names of chairmen of committees, a commonly used means of reference, have also been added.
